Tomas Alcides Benitex was born in Argentina. His love for photography began at an early age, soon after his grandmother gave him his first camera. Throughout much of his time on earth, Tomas has traveled to nearly every corner of the globe, capturing the daily lives of the extraordinary people and places he has seen in photos. A small but rich sampling of these images can be seen on this website. He eventually moved to the United States, settling in Connecticut. Tomas studied photography at New York University, honing his natural talent in an academic atmosphere. He began his professional photographic career in 1988, and has since expanded his business, along with his family, which now includes his wife Yulia, a chemist, and young daughter Caltha.
